DeKalb County Animal Enforcement Officers enforce the DeKalb County animal ordinance and state animal-related laws. Please call 404.294.2996 x2 to request field service. The cruelty hotline and web email are monitored Monday – Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. Animal Enforcement dispatchers are available by phone Monday - Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm at 404.294.2996 (ext. 2). After hours, emergency calls will be routed to Emergency 911 for handling. Field service during normal hours of operation includes:
- Stray animals; leash law violations
- Cruelty or neglect of animals
- Animal bites; dangerous or vicious animals
- Dog fighting; cock fighting
- Excessive animal noise
- No rabies vaccination; not registering a pet
